Things to Know

  • The size of bike provided may change day-of at the discretion of Acadia Bike rental staff.
  • Bikes are not permitted inside any vehicle. This can cause damage to the bike, and we don't want you to be responsible for anything other than your rental. There are options to ride into the park or use the Island Explorer's Bicycle Express Shuttle (late June - late September).
  • Acadia Bike assures all of its bikes are well-suited for Acadia National Park's famous carriage trails.

What to Bring

  • Camera (you'll want to capture the views from Rockefeller's roads!)
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, and anything to protect your skin from the sun (if you forget, we sell many of these items in our shop)
  • Water (our bikes have holders for standard water bottles)

Adventure Tips

Wear Your Helmet

Helmets are included and mandatory for your safety; make sure it fits snugly before you start riding.

Stay on Designated Carriage Trails

To protect the park’s fragile environment, only ride on marked carriage roads and trails.

Pack Water and Snacks

Even though rentals last a full day, bring hydration and snacks to keep your energy up during longer rides.

Check Weather Before You Go

Weather can change quickly in coastal Maine, so dress in layers and bring rain gear as needed.
