Rules + Important Details

By completing the purchase of this rental, you acknowledge that you are the responsible party for yourself and any minors/children for whom you are also purchasing. You acknowledge that you and all in your party understand and will adhere to the rules and regulations:

• Each rental is for a specific day and time. If you are late for your reservation, your scheduled end time will not change.

• Helmets are offered and recommended as part of the rental contract. All children 16 and under are required by law to wear a helmet at all times while riding a bicycle. Customers who decline to rent and wear helmets have done so at their own will and risk.

• Bicycles are maintained on a daily basis. It is the responsibility of the client to check the bicycle at the rental facility before setting out on any ride.

• Customer accepts use of the equipment as is, in good condition, and accepts full responsibility for care of the equipment while under his/her possession.

• Customer agrees to return the bicycle in a clean, undamaged condition to avoid any additional charges for repair, maintenance, or replacement.

• If bike is returned with damaged parts or components, then those will be repaired/replaced at the rental facility’s discretion, and the customer agrees to pay for components replaced.

• Clean condition means normal wear and tear is accepted, but does not include broken spokes, rims, bent rims, damaged frames, handlebars, seats or other parts from misuse and/or crashes.

• All bicycles must be returned clean of mud and debris. Any bicycle returned with excessive mud or dirt will be assessed a $10 cleaning fee.

• Cyclists operating a bicycle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs in Tennessee expose themselves to the risk of criminal charges, including but not limited to, public intoxication and reckless endangerment.

##What happens if there is inclement weather? In the event of inclement weather (lightning strikes in the area or high winds that are prohibitive for paddling), our rental locations will close until the area is clear of lightning for 45 minutes or until prohibitive wind conditions subside. Customers with reservations within these time frames will be contacted by Shelby Farms Park to reschedule for a later time and/or date.
