About

Explore the tastes and sights of Madison’s beautiful and bikeable east-side neighborhoods! Join us on a BCycle as we explore the Willy Street, Atwood, and Olbrich neighborhoods.

Enjoy 7 food tastings and 2 drink samples!

We’ll start at the historic Garver Feed Mill where we’ll get an overview of the tour, and learn the basics of riding the BCycles. At Garver, we’ll enjoy samples from two resident businesses, Roll Play and Kosa or Ian’s Pizza. Roll Play features Asian street food and we will sampe two items from their menu. Ian's offers pizza by the slice and Kosa prepares vegan dishes in the Ayurvedic tradition. Be ready to have your senses ignited!

As we pedal easily (the new BCycles have electric assist and are a breeze to ride!) along the bike path and side streets, we’ll make our second stop at Taco Local for tacos and marg samples. From there we’ll pedal along the lake path and neighborhood streets to the Willy Street neighborhood. We’ll learn about the African American history of this neighborhood, including the oldest known Madison resident who lived on Willy Street! We visit Orton Park--Orton Park was Madison’s first city park, and before that it had a more spooky history. Can you guess what it was?

We'll stop at Starkweather for a sample of beer and light bar snacks!

From there we’ll cruise back toward Garver where we'll enjoy real Wisconsin ice cream before ending the tour.

After parking the bikes and finishing the tour, feel free to enjoy more patio time at Garver.
