#Try something new: Paddle an inflatable kayak down the Arkansas River!

##Duration 3 hours

##About Go solo in an inflatable one or two-person kayak, also known as a duckie. Big Bend, with its calm water and mild rapids, is the perfect section of the Arkansas River to maneuver your own boat. You’ll love paddling your duckie around meandering turns and through splashy class II to class III rapids.

KODI Rafting’s Big Bend Half Day Duckie trip is an excellent choice for those looking for a bit more adventure. Please note, you won’t be totally alone. All duckies follow a guide. Anyone paddling a duckie must be 14 years or older.

Cool fact: Worried about getting a tear in your duckie? Don’t! Inflatable kayaks are actually known as unsinkable boats. Even when they are completely filled with water, they won’t sink. Each inflatable kayak will always have more than one air chamber, so even in the unlikely event that one should completely deflate, you’ll still float.

*Check-in is required 30 minutes prior to departure time.

##What to bring Avoid cotton, jeans & long pants if possible. Comfortable, quick-drying clothing is best. Any outdoor gear, such as neoprene, polypropylene, wool, or fleece is best. KODI rents wetsuits, booties and splash tops if you would like some extra protection. You’ll also want to bring hats, sunscreen, sunglasses and tennis shoes (that you don’t mind getting wet) or rubber-soled attachable (no flip-flops or Croc's) sport sandals.

KODI Rafting also offers wetsuits, booties and splash tops. Wetsuits are farmer johns, and a splash top is a heavy-duty rain jacket designed for the river. On the Numbers 1/2 Day, wetsuits rent for $5, booties for $3 and splash tops for $3; or you can do the full set up for $10. Gear is recommended on this trip.
