Experience the beauty of Looe on our Beyond Paradise tour. This 1.5-hour walking tour will take on a journey through the charming Cornish coastal town on Looe where you’ll discover the locations used for this new hit series.
As fans say goodbye to Death in Paradise, they can tune into Beyond Paradise, the new spin-off series that follows Humphrey, played by Kris Marshall, and his fiancée, Martha Lloyd, played by Sally Bretton, as they leave the Caribbean and head to the fictional Devonshire seaside town of Shipton Abbott, which was actually filmed in Cornwall.
During the tour you will stroll along the picturesque harbour and explore the winding streets of the historic town centre as you follow in the footsteps of DI Humphrey Goodman, PC Kelby Hartford, DS Esther Williams and Margo Martins. The tour stops outside the Guildhall, which was used as the police station and see some of the local shops and restaurants that have been featured in the show, including The Sail Loft restaurant. Part of the tour also passes by the town’s very own working fish market, which has featured in the series.
As you walk along the East Looe River, which can be seen in a river chase scene in the first series of the show, you’ll hear the seagulls caw and see the fishing boats bob along the river that is instantly recognisable when watching Beyond Paradise. The tour will walk at a gentle pace, allowing you to absorb all of the beauty and charm of this not-so-sleepy Cornish town.
One of the highlights of the tour is a stop at East Looe beach, one of Southern Cornwall’s popular, sandy beaches. There you can breathe in the salty sea air and understand why the cast and crew enjoyed filming in this idyllic location in the South West of England.
Throughout the tour your friendly guide will entertain you with stories about the making of Beyond Paradise and share fascinating facts about the area’s rich history, culture and natural beauty. So, come and experience the magic of the show for yourself and discover a Cornish paradise on our Beyond Paradise tour.
