Highlights of the guided tour

  • During this tour you will experience the ""Basilica Maior"" for the Holy Mary ""Santa Maria Maggiore"", which contains one of the four Holy Doors.

  • Then we will reveal the hidden basilica ""Santa Prasede"" and its secrets.

  • Followed by ""San Pietro in Vincoli"" where you will see the statue of Moses by Michelangelo and the miraculous chains of St. Peter.

  • After a beautiful view of the Colosseum, you will visit two of the oldest churches in the city:

    1. ""Santi Quattro Coronati"" with the legend of Pope Sylvester
    1. ""San Clemente"", dedicated to the fourth Pope ""Clemens I"" (Please note that the archaeological excavation of San Clemente is not visited, as the tour without it already lasts 4 hours. However, you will receive information about the excavations)
  • The tour culminates in a visit to the ""Basilica Maior"" and arch-basilica ""San Giovanni in Laterano - Mother and Head of all Churches in Rome and in the world"", which contains another of the four Holy Doors and the ""Scala Santa"", which was brought to Rome from the Holy Land.
