About

Wynwood has a very American story: lows and highs, poverty, riots, immigrants, ingenuity, enterprise, gentrification, and success, but what makes it different is the ART. The Wynwood Art District is a place filled with unique restaurants, one-of-a-kind shops, lots of construction, pretty people, but most important of all: stunning murals, block after block after block. It’s an incubator of diversity and art, and if you are not part of its scene, you are missing out on a major phenomenon of your generation. The Best of Wynwood Tour with Wynwood Art Walk will share an insider’s view and introduce you to some of its history, artists, arts, and stories, enhancing your appreciation and deepening your enjoyment.

What to Expect: This is a walking tour, so wear comfortable shoes! Bringing a bottle of water, wearing a sunscreen and a hat also recommended.

We will visit many of the murals in the area. Although specific murals change often, the area is filled with murals from international street art superstars, like David Walker and El Mac and locals like Atomik and Luis Valle. We will learn about the artists, about their techniques and stories. As we stroll the streets, we talk about the changes in the area from the metamorphosis of individual walls to the transformation of buildings and local businesses. We will hear about the development of Wynwood from its riot-scarred past through the movement of artists in the 200s to the gentrification of the present.

You will have a chance to ask questions about any- and everything discussed and will receive recommendations for further exploration or for wining/dining tips upon request.

Specific gallery stops, artwork, and murals are subject to change as galleries change shows and hours, and murals are painted over.
