You step off the van into the humid belly of Belize’s lowland rainforest — the air slick with river mist and the distant hum of insects. A guide clips your harness, a headlamp bobs on your forehead, and the trail narrows into a shaded walk where roots hook your boots and leaves brush your shoulders.
