Have you ever wanted to keep bees? Have you ever wondered what goes on “inside” a honey bee hive? All the activity? What each individual is doing for the good of the hive? Come experience the inner workings of “The Hive” and learn basic beekeeping techniques and equipment operation, in a “real” hands-on experience “One on One”!
During this approximately 2 hr experience, you will perform a hive inspection on an active honeybee hive or two. Learn what to look for on each frame and find the queen! We will provide all the equipment necessary for you to work alongside us as we inspect our hives during a bi-weekly hive inspection. Checking for hive health, and looking at the activity on each frame.
This will be a “hands on” experience, and you will be an “active” participant and learn what the tools of the trade are by using them. We invite you to ask questions, and we will try to answer all your questions, show you how to handle bees and possibly become a beekeeper too. Sign up for an experience while you're a guest at one of our “Glamping Locations” or if you are just staying in the area and are looking for a “sweet experience” in the Lake Raystown Region. Experiences are limited, so sign up early.
