We have been given exclusive access to this spectacular trail in the untouched World Heritage Daintree Rainforest. Come with us on a truly wild walk, exploring the ancient rainforest, stunning valleys, majestic mountains, and crystal clear streams of the Daintree.

For the morning, we enjoy a fascinating scenic drive into the Daintree Rainforest, indulging in a gourmet lunch in a superb rainforest restaurant with a choice of Barramundi Meunière, Chicken Breast with mango salsa, Kangaroo Steak, Rib Fillet Steak, and Vegetarian options available. We cater for all dietary requirements. Here we also learn about the locally grown delights with a Tropical Fruit Tasting experience.

In the afternoon, we walk deeper into this ancient rainforest, exploring lush forest glades and the creekside valley, and swim beneath a pristine, secluded waterfall.

You also have the breathtaking option to meet us via a scenic helicopter flight from Port Douglas over the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. Please email us for further details about helicopter options.

The Waterfall walk is a slightly challenging two hour return, requiring reasonable fitness and good balance.

Our “Daintree Ancient Giants” is an easy tour suitable for people who are not experienced walkers.

All activities are seasonal and weather permitting.

You will be asked to sign a WAIVER of Liability on the day. We recommend you take out travel insurance. To receive a full refund, travellers may cancel up to 24 hours before the tour start time. No refunds will be given after that time.

Please note: This tour is only available for guests meeting us in Port Douglas or Mossman (Silky Oaks).

Cairns guests please meet us in Port Douglas (select IGA SUPAmarket, Port Douglas). Try ExemplarOnline.com.au for direct shuttle bus to Port Douglas.

Get a group of four or more together to save!

We offer morning pickup service between 10:00am to 11:00am from your accommodation if you are staying in Port Douglas or Mossman (eg. Silky Oaks).

And we return to your accommodation approx 5:00pm.

This tour is recommended for 10-65 years of age. Maximum group size: 11

What to bring

Be prepared for a fantastic day in the rainforest.

Please bring:

  • loose clothing suitable for walking, hat, fresh shirt for the afternoon, sunscreen, insect repellant (or long sleeves/pants), swimming gear, towel, raincoat or poncho, sunglasses, walking shoes, camera. Water bottle (not glass).

Adventure Tips

Prepare for slippery terrain

Wear sturdy walking shoes with good grip as the waterfall trail can be wet and uneven.

Bring swimwear and towel

Swim beneath the waterfall to cool off—pack suitable swim gear and a towel for the afternoon dip.

Use insect repellent

The rainforest hosts mosquitoes and other insects; apply repellent or wear long sleeves and pants.

Stay hydrated

Carry a water bottle—avoid glass—and drink regularly on the hike and during breaks.
