About Boston Foodie Tours

Locally owned by a Boston native and culinary school alum, multi-award-winning Boston Foodie Tours (“BFT”) focuses on award-winning best eats, culinary education, and the city’s rich history. We partner with Best of Boston winners, James Beard Award winners, food institutions, and the like.

Beacon Hill Neighborhood Tour

Our private Beacon Hill Neighborhood Tour is most appropriate for small groups, and offers two upscale restaurant dining experiences.

With its Federal brick townhouses, window boxes, gas-lit street lamps, cobblestone streets, and brick sidewalks, historic Beacon Hill is a must-visit for both locals and tourists.

We’ll begin with a selection of three seasonal and always-memorable small plates at The Whitney Hotel's Peregrine restaurant, led by the team of Chef Josh Lewin and Katrina Jazayeri, whose Juliet restaurant has been recognized as "Best New Restaurant", Food & Wine magazine.

Next, guests will enjoy a small ice cream of choice at a local ice shop ranked by GQ magazine as one of the top ten in the country that you must try. Tastings of top-selling chocolate truffles at a multiple "Best of Boston Chocolatiers" follows.

The sightseeing portion of the tour will bring our guests to Acorn Street, described as the most photographed street in Boston, and sometimes the country! Next, we'll visit historic Louisburg Square, the home of John Kerry, among other past and present literary notables.

Our tour route will intersect with the Black Heritage Trail, where you'll find a significant part of Beacon Hill's history, including the Museum of African American History, the oldest standing Black church building in the country.

Our guests will then enjoy an iconic sweet from a James Beard Award winner's beloved bakery, which has been ranked as high as the third best in the country! Clue: This sticky treat beat Bobby Flay, AND was featured on the Food Network's "Best Thing I Ever Ate". In addition to the on-site tastings, our guests will be offered a takeaway to enjoy later.

Our tour will conclude at the restaurant of a legendary James Beard Award winner Lydia Shire with your choosing of soup and a slice of iconic lobster pizza, or two slices of either lobster pizza or Margherita pizza.
