The van slides away from town and the halo of streetlights gives way to a canyon of dark. Above the Rockies, the Milky Way unfurls in sharp relief; the guide’s flashlight becomes a pointer and the crisp air sharpens each star into a clear pinprick. Small groups settle into heated portable chairs while telescopes and iPads bring planets and star clusters into surprising detail.

Light—suitable for those comfortable walking short distances on gentle trails
The experience includes about two hours of guided stargazing at the viewing site within a total tour time of roughly four hours.
Aurora visibility is possible but not guaranteed; clear, dark skies and solar activity increase chances—guides will point them out if visible.
Children aged 8 and up are welcome; younger children are not permitted due to safety and nighttime conditions.
The tour is weather-dependent. If cloud cover or extreme conditions prevent safe or meaningful stargazing, the tour may be postponed or canceled with notification.
Banff National Park, established in 1885, is Canada’s oldest national park; the area also holds long-standing cultural sky knowledge of the Stoney Nakoda people.
The tour operates with low group sizes and remote sites to minimize light pollution and wildlife disturbance; visitors are asked to follow Leave No Trace practices.
