Mists rise off a wide, multi-tiered curtain of water and the river seems to push you forward — that’s Ban Gioc at first sight. The falls spill across the Quây Sơn River on the Chinese border, thundering from terraces of dark limestone into emerald pools. Days here are shaped by water and karst: boat engines, cave hush, rice paddies tilting toward the valley.
