A low wooden boat parts the morning fog and slides into a bowl of open water framed by sheer limestone ridges—this is Ba Be Lake at first light. On day one you’ll push off from Bo Lu village, pass An Ma Temple’s red columns, and tie up at the mirror-calm Fairy Pond where karst cliffs drop straight into emerald water.
