About

With this private tour we will get to know the most charming and emblematic areas of Amsterdam. With one of our expert guides we will talk about the past and present of the city, trying to get the most complete possible view of what is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe.

Starting our tour at the Central Railway Station, we will enter the Ring of Canals, built in the 17th century and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Here we will learn about the real palaces that were built by the wealthiest merchants during the Dutch golden age. Along the way, we will see the narrowest house in Amsterdam, as well as many of the famous boat houses and houseboats, in which the inhabitants of the city still live today.

Then we will discover what for many is the most beautiful district of Amsterdam, the Jordaan, known for its bohemian atmosphere and for being the cradle of great Dutch artists. In it, we will find the famous brown cafes, symbols of Amsterdammer life and Dutch culture, and we will walk through the streets of what may seem like a small village on the edge of the city.

Leaving the Jordaan, right on the canal that marks the border of the neighborhood, the Prinsengracht, we will find what is probably the most famous house in Amsterdam, the house of Anne Frank. There we will tell you in detail its history, as well as the terrible way in which the Second World War was lived in Amsterdam and the Netherlands. Before following our route, we will also get to know the church that Anne heard and mentioned so many times in her diary, the Westerkerk, and where, in addition, one of the most important characters in the history of the city is buried.

Continuing with our route, we will tour the popular district of the 9th streets, a picturesque neighborhood full of local shops where vintage clothing and craft shops abound, as well as art galleries Perfect for you to take note of the guide’s recommendations if you want to come back for some shopping! Afterwards, we will head to the Leidseplein area, the heart of Amsterdam’s nightlife, where there are numerous restaurants, Live music bars and the biggest coffeeshop of the famous Bull Dog brand will also be a good time for you to get ideas for your free time in the city!

Before finishing our tour, we will walk through the Vondelpark, the largest and most important park in the city, known as the lung of Amsterdam. Finally, we will arrive at the museum area, Museumplein, where there are, among others, the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum.

We’ll pick you up at your hotel in downtown Amsterdam. In case your hotel is outside the city centre, the meeting point will be at I Amsterdam Visitor Centre (Stationsplein 10, opposite the Central Train Station)
