About

Complete beginners start here and they will be slowly introduced to the basics of ice skating with the goal of making the skater safe on the ice. Once they have been introduced to the correct way to fall and stand up on the ice, coaches will encourage skaters to find their own balance and start moving across the ice independently in both directions, forwards and backwards!

More info

We have a fully stocked skate shop…so no need to panic if you forget your socks or gloves! Better still, we also have a cosy coffee shop so if you’re beginning to feel the cold, you can enjoy a hot drink and food, whilst you sit back, relax and view all the fast-paced action on the ice!

What to bring

Our rinks maintain an air temperature of 10C so warm layers are a must! An insulated rain jacket will keep you warm and dry, and be sure to bring long socks. We strongly recommend that young skaters wear a well-fitted bike, ice hockey or ski helmet.

Adventure Tips

Dress in warm, layered clothing

Ice rink temperatures stay around 10°C, so bring insulated jackets and long socks to stay comfortable.

Arrive early for check-in

Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before your session to collect skates and get ready on time.

Wear a helmet if unsure of stability

Beginners are encouraged to wear a bike, ski, or ice hockey helmet for added safety during falls.
