About:

One on one or one on two lessons are a great way to get the most out of your lesson and private lessons are available to everyone – absolute beginner, intermediate or the more experienced surfer. Every private lesson is tailored for you.

With the option to add as many surfers to your private lesson you can create a custom private lesson for your family or group

You’ll be amazed how quickly you progress.

We have private lessons available all throughout the year at times that are convenient for you. We are ready anytime to focus on your improvement and love of surfing.

Things to Bring:

  • Swim wear
  • Towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Drinking water
  • Your surfboard and/or wetsuit, or we will supply

Inclusions:

We will provide you with the following when you arrive for your lesson:

  • 1.5 - 2 hours private focused coaching with dedicated instructor
  • Surfboard and wetsuit hire selected for you and the conditions or bring your own
  • Tailored focus

Location

We are based at Te Arai Beach & Forestry however we are a mobile surf school and also operate from Mangawhai Heads, Matakana and Orewa. We find Te Arai has the most consistent, fun surfing conditions over other locations. We meet directly at Te Arai Beach Reserve at your lesson time

Adventure Tips

Arrive Early

Plan to arrive 10 minutes before your lesson to meet your instructor and prepare.

Use Provided Gear or Bring Your Own

Wetsuits and boards are supplied, but bringing personal equipment can help maintain comfort and familiarity.

Protect Against Sun Exposure

Apply reef-safe sunscreen and wear a rash vest to reduce UV impact during your session.

Stay Hydrated

Bring drinking water to stay hydrated, especially on warm summer days at the beach.
