Engines hum, dust rises and the dry scrub of Guanacaste pushes back as you lift off the throttle to peer at a ribboned waterfall tucked down a ravine. This three‑hour ATV loop out of Sardinal threads through mud streets, rutted farm tracks and open ridgelines, stopping in villages where children wave and local farmers go about daily life.
moderate.
3 hours.
Light to moderate fitness—comfortable sitting and shifting weight on an ATV for up to three hours; no extreme cardio required.
No prior experience is required; guides give a safety briefing and basic handling instructions. Riders should be comfortable with throttle, braking and shifting weight.
Requirements vary by operator; typically drivers must meet a minimum age (often 16+) and carry ID—check booking questions for specifics.
You can get wet at the waterfall if you choose—bring a quick‑dry shirt and protect electronics; rocks may be slippery so use caution.
Tours may run in light rain but heavy storms or unsafe conditions can lead to cancellation; operators usually reserve the right to cancel for safety.
Guanacaste has a strong rural tradition rooted in cattle ranching and folk customs; Sardinal developed as a small service town on inland routes to the coast.
Stay on designated tracks to limit erosion and avoid riding through riverbeds during sensitive periods; respect private land and local farming operations.
ARON THE BIG PAPI AMAZING ADVENTURE operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
