Bison Adventure

Experience the thrill of driving your own Polaris Ranger. Take a ride with us through the bison herd and cruise over 20 miles of trail systems winding around our beautiful ranch. Take in the beautiful panoramic views of Routt County and learn about its dense history and heritage. Stop at our favorite spot on the ranch to watch the sunset.

After instruction and some practice time, you embark on an exciting journey through the diverse landscape and history that makes Routt County a popular vacation destination in Colorado. You will be sharing the area with bison, horses, alpaca, llama, elk, deer, antelope, and other wild animals!

We provide water and snacks as well as helmets, goggles, and bandannas. Closed-toe shoes are required.

Our ATVs are easy and fun to operate, even for the beginner off-road driver.

Must Wear Closed Toed Shoes

All drivers must be at least 16 years old and have a valid drivers license

Valuable items are not recommended on tour. Tour operator will not be held responsible if lost, stolen, or damaged. No personal storage is available on site.

The trail can and will be dusty, if you have allergies we suggest you bring your extra medication, just in case.

Rules & Requirements

Requirements

  1. All drivers must present a valid driver’s license at check-in (mandatory for all drivers).
  2. Drivers must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license. 16 & 17-year-old drivers must also be accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license as a passenger.
  3. Solo drivers solo must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
  4. We do not suggest any children under the age of 7 come on the tours. Children that are of the age or size to require a car seat or booster seat within a regular highway passenger vehicle, must be in a car seat or booster seat while in the OHV. Also, make sure you bring any type of special child restraint you may need for a small child under the age of 8. We do not provide child seats or booster seats of any kind.
  5. Experience not necessary. Instructions, safety brief, and equipment orientation will be provided before the tour begins
  6. Children as young as 5 years old may ride as a passenger with a responsible adult or with a guide (based on availability).
  7. Be sure your clothing and personal items will withstand dirt, mud, water, and bouncing around!
  8. We will not be responsible for personal property.
  9. Closed-toe shoes are required for your safety (we provide mandatory eye protection and helmets)
  10. Rental clothing (shirt and pants are available for a $5 wash fee). Or we have Lucky 8 Ranch attire for purchase.
  11. Pregnant women, anyone with heart, neck, or back problems, or recent joint replacement surgeries are not allowed to participate.
  12. Recommended weight per vehicle not to exceed 500 lbs.
  13. Driver is 100% responsible for vehicular damage.
  14. Helmets & eye protection is required and provided.

Rules

  1. Have fun!
  2. NO SMOKING at any time throughout the entire tour or on Lucky 8 Ranch property.
  3. Review and understand the operations of the vehicle. Ask Questions!
  4. Wear protective clothing, no sandals or open toed shoes.
  5. Helmets and eye protection is mandatory while in a vehicle.
  6. Must use seat belt/safety harness at all times while in the vehicle.
  7. Follow the trail and maintain a "safe" distance from the vehicle in front of you.
  8. NO PASSING, NO LAGGING BEHIND, NO SLING SHOTTING, NO DONUTS, NO DRIVING OFF TRAIL
  9. Slow is always better & safer.
  10. Watch out for bison & wildlife. DO NOT APPROACH or ANTAGONIZE.
  11. If you have vehicle trouble, stop and turn off your engine. DO NOT GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE.
  12. If you get separated from the group. Stop and Wait! DO NOT COME to LOOK FOR US! We WILL find you.
  13. This is a guided tour. This is not a thrill ride.
  14. This tour is considered a high adventure tour. Unless these rules are followed there is a possibility of personal injury or flipping a vehicle.
  15. Be conscientious of others on the tour, as everyone has a different driving ability.
  16. Go slow, be safe, and watch out for each other.
  17. Be respectful of Lucky 8 Ranch property. This is our home!

For the safety of everyone on the tour, failure to follow these rules will result in having your driving privileges removed immediately!

  8. Slick Trails/Roads when Wet
  9. Dusty when Dry
  10. Fire Hazards at ALL TIMES!
