The engine growls to life and the first rutted track pulls you away from the resort strip — dust plumes like a curtain and the countryside dares you to go faster. On this four‑hour ATV loop out of Punta Cana, you move through sunbaked fields, across muddy braids, and under a canopy of tropical scrub that seems intent on slowing you down.
moderate.
4 hours.
Moderate — comfortable standing/sitting for a few hours and able to handle brief physical effort when mounting or balancing the ATV.
No formal experience is required; guides provide basic instruction and supervision, but drivers should be comfortable operating a manual vehicle and following directions.
Most operators supply helmets and safety briefings; confirm at booking and bring your own if you prefer a personal fit.
Children must be accompanied by an adult; usually only adults (18+) are permitted to drive their own ATV — check operator age rules before booking.
Tours may be modified or canceled for safety if heavy rain makes trails hazardous; operators often have a weather‑based refund policy or rebooking option.
La Altagracia’s landscape is defined by limestone karst and colonial-era rural settlements; small farms along the route still practice traditional cocoa and coffee processing.
Stick to marked trails to avoid accelerating erosion; use reef‑safe sunscreen at Playa Macao and pack out trash to protect coastal habitats.
Caribbean Tour Service operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
