##Course Description

ASA 101, also known as Basic Keelboat Sailing, is an introductory sailing course designed for individuals who are eager to embark on their sailing journey. Whether you're a novice sailor or have some experience, this 2-Day Course with our ASA Certified Instructors provides a solid foundation for understanding the fundamentals of keelboat sailing and serves as a stepping stone for those who wish to pursue more advanced sailing certifications. Join us and set sail on your sailing journey today!

By the completion of the course, students will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to skipper a sloop-rigged keelboat of approximately 20 to 27 feet in length by day in light to moderate winds and sea conditions.
  • Knowledge of basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards. Auxiliary power operation is not required.

All course materials are provided including ASA 101 book and study guide. It is recommended to review your book prior to attending class.
