Wear sturdy shoesTemple steps and uneven stone surfaces require closed-toe shoes with good grip for short walking tours.

Carry small changeLocal markets and tips at small sites work best with Egyptian pounds in small denominations.

Start early for cooler visitsMorning or late-afternoon temple tours avoid the heat and give softer light for photos.

Recommended gear

Sun hat and UV sunglasses: Shields you during exposed on-deck hours and open-air temple visits.
Comfortable walking shoes: Needed for uneven steps and cobbled surfaces at archaeological sites.
Reusable water bottle with filter: Helps you stay hydrated; refill from bottled water sources on board.
Light layers or shawl: Early mornings and evenings on deck can be breezy; modest cover is also useful at religious sites.
