ASA 105: Basic Coastal Navigation is geared towards equipping sailors with the theoretical knowledge needed to safely navigate a sailing vessel in coastal or inland waters. This course covers marine chart reading, aids to navigation, and the use of navigational instruments. Students will master plotting courses, determining positions, and calculating estimated arrival times. Emphasis is placed on chart interpretation, understanding tides and currents, and practical techniques for safe coastal navigation.
Please Note: This is a classroom course. No on water training included.
All course materials are provided including ASA 105 book and study guide. It is recommended to review your book prior to attending class.

Our Private Lesson prices are the same as other schools multi-student classes where the focus is on getting the entire class though the course as opposed to focusing on you, one on one, at your pace, not the other students in the class.
In the event a student doesn’t pass our ASA 101 course within the scheduled course completion date, we will provide additional instruction until you have passed the course and certified, at no cost to you.
