From the ground up we cultivate a strong foundation of sailing knowledge and skill. This course will give you the skills and know-how to skipper a sailboat by day, in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. Learn basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards. This course includes a free online introductory class.
2 Days: 7 Hours Per Day
Bring plenty of water and light snacks to stay energized during your sailing sessions.
Sailing exposes you to strong sun reflections off the water, so sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen are a must.
Prepare for changing temperatures on the water by dressing in layers that can be added or removed easily.
Pay close attention during briefings to understand sailing commands and safety procedures fully.
