After this short walk, you will arrive in front of the second most visited museum in Florence to discover Michelangelo's David, the most famous Florentine symbol. The gallery is one of the places with the highest number of sculptures made by Michelangelo, here you can admire the museum of musical instruments, the collection of paintings with a golden background and the Sala dei Prigioni with sculptures designed for Pope Julius II, but obviously, the visit will focus more on the most relevant work of art, THE DAVID. A marble sculpture (520 cm high) made by Michelangelo Buonarroti between 1501 and the beginning of 1504, considered a masterpiece of world sculpture, is one of the emblems of the Renaissance and a symbol of Florence and Italy all over the world.
