About

Tours take place in and around our farmyard at Bellevue Farm, Blackwaterfoot. A great activity for children and parents alike. Our visitors are taken for a relaxed walk round our working farm and will meet our farm animals along the way. We’ve also got a few special friends in the form of our donkeys – Hamish & Murphy, Tabitha, our miniature Shetland pony, highland cows, chicks, rabbits, ducks and hens – and Benita, Granada and Eriskay, our cuddly alpacas. You can see machinery, tractors and hear the story of real life on an island farm. The nature of the tour depends upon the season, weather and conditions at the time – every day on the farm is different! Visitors will be taken as part of a group and are encouraged to get up close and be involved but need only do what they are comfortable with.

What to bring

As this is a working farm, we suggest that you wear wellies or similar footwear. It is also sensible to bring waterproof clothing if the forecast is changeable.

Adventure Tips

Wear sturdy, waterproof footwear

As this is a working farm with uneven ground and potential mud, wellies or hiking boots are recommended.

Dress for variable weather

Island weather can shift quickly; bring waterproof and windproof layers to stay comfortable.

Arrive on time for group tours

Tours run on schedule to keep groups coordinated and ensure the best experience for all visitors.

Children should be supervised around animals

While animals are friendly, close adult supervision ensures a safe and enjoyable visit for young participants.
