Early light on Arenal throws a hard-edged silhouette across the valley as participants trade hotel lobbies for the vibration of ATV engines and the slap of paddle blades. The day begins on a private farm road beneath the volcano where riders throttle through scrub, past citrus stands and wide viewpoints that force a look back toward the cone. Later, the river—loud and willing—pulls the group into two hours of Class II–III rapids, swims from shaded banks, and strategic photo stops.

Participants should have average fitness: able to climb on/off ATVs, paddle and swim short distances, and handle intermittent exertion.
Minimum age is typically 16 for single ATV riders (with a valid driver’s license) and 8 for double-rider/shared ATVs; children must be accompanied by an adult.
The rafting section is rated Class II–III—moderate rapids with straightforward maneuvers, but expect some waves, current and short technical drops.
Pickup from selected hotels is included; pickup windows usually start 30–60 minutes before the tour start time—confirm exact pickup with the operator.
The tour is weather dependent; if rivers are closed due to flooding or authorities restrict access you’ll be offered an alternative or refund.
