Located in the heart of Hampshire, England’s New Forest offers a rugged landscape of ancient woodlands and open heathlands, making it a refreshing escape for adventure seekers. Insight Activities, based in Fordingbridge, brings an adrenaline-charged outdoor experience to Featherdown Farm with their combined Archery, Axe Throwing, and Static Battle Archery session. This 2.5-hour program is designed for anyone aged 12 and over looking to level up their precision and competitive edge amid a natural backdrop.
Insight Activities is unique in this part of the New Forest for its engaging mix of traditional archery and the less conventional thrill of axe throwing, capped off by a static combat-style archery game. Participants start by honing their skills on the archery range, learning to master recurve bows with specially designed tagging arrows. Then the pace shifts as you step up to axe throwing, an activity that demands focus and technique. The climax is the static archery combat segment—no running involved—but plenty of tactical shooting where each hit counts toward elimination. This format makes it safe and accessible while keeping the intensity high.
The New Forest’s terrain adds character to the experience, blending historic farming lands and wild woodland patches that have supported traditional crafts and outdoor skills for centuries. Insight Activities taps into this heritage by emphasizing skill, precision, and friendly competition, turning a farm setting into a dynamic arena. This makes the business a standout destination for families, groups, and corporate teams seeking something different from the typical forest walk or cycling trip.
Insight Activities also contributes to local outdoor recreation by offering a novel activity that complements the New Forest’s extensive trail network and nature reserves. It provides a hands-on, physically engaging way to get outside, learning traditional skills while immersed in the region’s landscape. Whether you’re sharp-shooting or throwing axes, this experience brings a fresh, kinetic energy to the New Forest adventure scene.
