About

Our privately guided introductory dive and snorkel trips from Port Douglas to the Great Barrier Reef will maximise your experience of the underwater world.

If you’ve never scuba dived before – and want to try breathing underwater for the first time – then the Great Barrier Reef is a magic place to do it. With the training, assistance and support of our very experienced dive guides, you’ll descend beneath the surface to explore the coral gardens of the biggest tropical reef system on earth.

Taking you quite literally by the hand, your Blue Dive private guide will navigate you around the reef to a maximum depth of 12m, pointing out some of the many exotic tropical fish species and corals. If you are travelling with family or friends who are certified divers, they can join you on your first scuba experience, to a maximum group size of 4.

If budget is an issue, we can make a group booking for you to try introductory diving from Port Douglas with the crew of the boat. Rest assured we are here to provide local knowledge and advice, to ensure you have the very best Port Douglas Great Barrier Reef trip and experience possible, regardless of who you dive with. Please note we also provide privately guided introductory diving from Cairns.

More Info

Discover the marine wonderland of the outer Great Barrier Reef, just a 90-minute boat trip from Cairns. We’ll spend five hours at the reef and visit two stunning dive sites. These are expertly chosen from our exclusive moorings on the Norman, Saxon and Hastings reefs to bring you the best quality conditions and diverse marine life, from colourful corals to inquisitive Nemos, turtles, stingrays and giant Maori Wrasse.

AquaQuest is our newest vessel and purpose-built for diving. It has a spacious dive deck and a sunken platform offering easy access to the water, plus state of the art equipment.

Travelling with both certified divers and keen snorkellers? No problem – you’ll share your journey out on the reef together on the same vessel, and complete your dives/snorkel experiences at the same dive sites.
