For your comfort, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad recommends that you consider the following when planning your trip:
COACHES ARE NOT HEATED.
Reservations fill up quickly, especially for Deluxe seats, so plan and book your trip well in advance.
Weather can vary dramatically along the route—bring layers to stay comfortable during the outdoor portions.
Wildlife can be spotted from a distance, so a camera with a good zoom lens enhances your photo opportunities.
Cell service is spotty along the remote areas of the trip, so plan accordingly and enjoy the disconnect.
The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad is a historic narrow-gauge railroad dating back to the late 19th century, preserving early western rail heritage.
The railroad operates with an emphasis on sustainable tourism, carefully managing natural resources and supporting local ecosystems.
Allows easy adjustment to temperature changes throughout the day.
