About

Earn your Animal Habitats Badge, as part of the aMUSE journey. Discover different animals and how they rely on their habitats to survive. In this 3 hour program, you will see habitats from around the world as you journey through the exhibits. Learn more about several ways animals can survive and also see how we create animal habitats by going on a behind the scenes tour of our exhibits. An actual award badge is not included.

What to Expect

You will be introduced to many of the fabulous creatures that inhabit our exhibits as well as what it takes to keep them healthy. We will be going behind the scenes and in “staff only” areas throughout the program. These areas require you to wear closed-toed shoes. In order to participate in the program, you must have the proper footwear. Flip-flops and other sandals are NOT permitted. Please wear clothes that can get a little dirty.

All other materials for the program will be provided by the Education department. All activities are based on requirements so you will not need any handbooks. Come ready to have a great time and have tons of fun!

Appropriate Behavior

To make your program educationally rewarding and enjoyable, we request that you review the following guidelines prior to your visit. Adult participants are responsible for the behavior of the children accompanying them. Stay with the program instructor at all times, whether inside or outside the building. Cooperate with the program instructor and follow guidelines that he/she gives. Please be considerate of other participants and guests. Downtown Aquarium is home to many animals. Please do not tap on exhibit windows, put hands or other objects in the water, feed anything to the animals, or handle any animal without permission from aquarium staff. No outside food or drink is allowed in the building. Please pick up after yourself - help us keep the classrooms, exhibits and restrooms clean.
