You arrive before dawn, the jeep crunching along a narrow tea-lined lane as mist loosens from the valley. The first light paints tea leaves silver and the river below gurgles, daring you forward. On this full-day circuit from Munnar you move from manicured estates to raw river crossings, finishing at Anakulam where elephants sometimes appear like slow shadows emerging from the forest.
