You step onto the coastal road and the sea immediately takes the lead — turquoise stretching below knife-edged cliffs, the road clinging like a ribbon to the rock. The ride from Sorrento unfolds in stages: tight hairpins, roadside lemon groves, and occasional lookouts where drivers pause so the group can inhale the coast’s scale.

Amalfi was a maritime republic in the Middle Ages; its cathedral and coastal trade shaped architecture and cultural ties across the Mediterranean.
The Amalfi Coast manages heavy tourism through local zoning and protected sea regulations; keep to marked paths, avoid trampling terraces, and support local businesses to reduce impact.
