Adventure tips

Morning departures calm the seaIf you’re prone to seasickness or want smoother light for photos, ask for an early start—mornings are generally calmer on the gulf.

Pack motion-sickness remediesBring anti-nausea medication or acupressure bands—the boat ride is short but can be rolly on windy days.

Wear grippy walking shoesCobblestones and pebbly beaches require solid soles for safe walking and quick climbs in Positano.

Carry small changeBring cash for small purchases, cafés or tips in Sorrento and Positano where cards aren’t always accepted.

Recommended gear

Sturdy walking shoes: Grip and ankle support for cobblestones, stairs and beach pebbles.
Sunscreen and wide-brim hat: Direct sun and reflected light off the sea make sun protection essential.
Light waterproof wind shell: Wind and spray on deck can be cool—bring a packable shell for comfort.
Small daypack with water bottle: Keeps essentials accessible during short walks ashore and on the boat.
