All You Can Shoot Clays: Full-Day Shotgun Courses & 5-Stand in Florence, Texas

All You Can Shoot Clays offers a full-day shotgun playground just outside Florence, Texas. On Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the range opens to the public for shotgun courses and 5-stand shooting—bring your shotgun and ammo, pay a $50 entry fee, and the clays are on the house. The setup favors approachable shooting: multiple 5-stand stations, trap machines that throw crossing and incoming targets, earthen berms for safe backstops, and open fields framed by Central Texas post oaks and mesquite. This is a no-frills, participant-forward session aimed at shooters who want time on the gun without renting lanes or buying expensive targets. Instructors may run shotgun courses during the day for fundamentals and stance work; the environment supports both learners and experienced shooters who want to practice on rotating presentations. Small-group capacity (about eight shooters) keeps rotations moving and gives you plenty of shots—the format is social and hands-on without the pressure of formal competition. Practical details matter: minimum age is 16, ammo is not provided, and the straightforward $50 per-person entry covers lane access and unlimited clay targets. Expect a mix of instruction, drill stations, and open 5-stand rotation. Bring hearing and eye protection, a compatible choke and shells, and patience for Texas sun and dust. Footing is uneven grassy ground; closed-toe shoes and a hat make long sessions comfortable. What makes this offering special for Florence is its accessibility and community feel. Florence sits within quick driving distance of Austin and Round Rock but still carries small-town prairie character; the range takes advantage of wide-open sky and quiet shooting corridors you won’t find in denser suburban ranges. For visiting outdoors people, the range doubles as a chance to practice transferable skills—lead tracking, swing mechanics, and target acquisition—that apply to upland hunting and competitive clays. Plan your Thursday as a full-day outing: hydrate, bring spare shells, and arrive early to warm up with instruction or a few practice targets. The range’s free clays policy and predictable schedule reward dedicated practice time and make it a smart stop for anyone visiting the region who wants high-value time on the gun. The All You Can Shoot Clays session is equal parts practical training ground and local ritual—a pared-down, effective place to shoot, learn, and trade tips with other shooters. Expect a brief safety briefing at check-in with staff on hand to manage rotations; these sessions keep the line moving and emphasize range etiquette and emergency procedures. If you’re traveling from Austin or Round Rock, allow 45–60 minutes for country roads. Combine the visit with other Central Texas outdoor options—river float trips, hill country drives, or local farms for a full-day rural escape that pairs well with serious shooting practice.
