Adventure tips

Use reef-safe sunscreenApply and reapply biodegradable, reef-safe sunscreen before entering the water to protect coral and reduce skin irritation.

Bring seasickness preventionIf you’re prone to motion sickness, take medication or use acupressure bands before boarding—the crossing can be choppy at times.

Carry ID and small cashBring a government ID for pickup and small pesos for island purchases or tips—card acceptance can be limited on the street.

Wear water shoesBeaches and rocky points can be sharp; light water shoes make snorkeling exits and short walks more comfortable.

Recommended gear

Reef-safe sunscreen: Protects skin and the local coral reef while spending hours in tropical sun.
Personal snorkel mask: A well-fitting mask improves comfort and visibility compared with loaner gear.
Water shoes: Protects feet on rocky shorelines and makes beach exits easier after snorkeling.
Waterproof phone pouch: Keeps phone dry for photos and holds cash/ID while on the water.
