These trips allow for up to 6 passengers per trip. We provide 4 top of the line Tanacom electric reels for your use while fishing on these trips. We only fish four electric reels/rods at the same time for our halibut trips due to tangles with additional lines. If the conditions allow us to add more lines in the water above the 4, we will deploy manual reels. We rotate the additional two persons to the electric reels once each person catches a fish. This allows fair fishing for everyone on the boat. If we fish 6 rods all at once, tangles will take place. If you do not want to participate in the electric reel rotation and you want to fish your own rod all day, please make sure your captain is aware of your expectations prior to the trip. If fishing is really good, you will be very busy. If it is slow, we are all working together to catch your fish. We strive to provide a fun, safe, and memorable fishing trip for everyone.
We will also clean, fillet, and bag your catch for you. Vacuum packing and shipping are available locally. Just ask and we can point you in the right direction.
Appropriate Clothing: It's the Northwest, be prepared. If you’re fishing with me along the coast, the marine environment can be very different from the rest of the region. During the summertime, it’s not uncommon to see 90° in Portland/Vancouver while 90 miles away in Astoria it’s 60°.
Rain Gear: No matter the forecast, make sure you have it. If the conditions are just right, you may need the rain gear to keep the spray off of you as we travel. If you don’t need it, no big deal. Should you need it and don’t have it, it could make for an uncomfortable experience. You could also purchase Frogg Toggs from Amazon so that you have rain gear and if you don’t use it, you can return it.
Eats and Drinks: Bring what you would like for the day. You can always take it home if you don't consume it.
Camera: Some of the fish that we catch, by law, must be released. A good camera is always nice to capture the memories of these beautiful fish.
