You step off the minivan onto the short lawn of Beinn Bhreagh and the shoreline smells of sea and peat; the Bras d’Or Lake stares back like a patient mirror. Guides steer the group through glass cases and reconstructed workshops where Bell’s experiments — the Silver Dart and the HD‑4 hydrofoil — feel freshly mechanical rather than museum‑still. Light filters across display plaques, and the harbor outside hums with fishing skiffs and the occasional sail.
