Experience Alaska’s longest and fastest zip line at Icy Strait Point with Ziprider. Soar over mountains and forests while enjoying breathtaking views of Anchorage’s rugged coast.
Anchorage, Alaska, serves as the gateway to one of the most exhilarating outdoor activities in the region — an intense zipriding adventure operated by Ziprider at Icy Strait Point. This experience offers adventurers the chance to soar across the Alaskan wilderness from a high treehouse launch point, riding the longest continuous zip line in the United States. The journey begins with a scenic gondola ascent to the mountaintop, where panoramic views of cruise ships docked below and expansive natural landscapes stretch into the distance. As you prepare for takeoff, the adrenaline builds, knowing you’re about to speed through the air at up to 60 mph.
What makes Ziprider a standout activity in this part of Alaska is its unique combination of extreme speed, high altitude, and breathtaking views. The ride lasts about two minutes, delivering an intense adrenaline rush as you fly over dense forest, rugged mountain slopes, and glimpses of the nearby coastline. The operation’s attention to safety is critical, though some visitors have noted the need for clearer instructions given the ride’s intensity. The sit-up, harness-secured posture provides comfort and ensures a secure experience, while the cold mountain air intensifies the thrill.
Anchorage’s surrounding landscapes amplify the appeal with their pristine wilderness, towering Sitka spruce, and coastal vistas created by glacial carving. Ziprider is not only a must-do for thrill-seekers but also a way to absorb the unique environment of Southeast Alaska from an unforgettable vantage point. Whether you’re a first-time zipliner or a seasoned adventurer, this experience offers one-of-a-kind excitement combined with the natural beauty that defines Alaska’s outdoor recreation scene. Ziprider’s location at Icy Strait Point, near Anchorage, makes it accessible and a perfect addition to any Alaska itinerary, providing a memorable highlight amid the region’s wild charm.
