When To Go

  • May 16th - July 31st is when we will primarily target King Salmon. The early run starts showing up right around Mid May and will last until the end of June, about the time that the wild run (and bigger) Kings start showing up in the River.
  • June 15th - August 10th, we will be targeting Sockeye (or Red Salmon) and the best times to fish for them is generally from the third week of June until the third week of July. We will still find fresh Sockeye all the way until the third week of August, but they become a bit harder to find later in the season.
  • August 1st - September 15th is when we start really targeting Silver Salmon. They show up in good numbers around the second week of August and can really be caught all the way until the end of the year!
  • August 1st - September 15th, this is great time to target those Trophy Rainbow Trout or Dolly's, so if you’re looking for a good chance at catching a good number, and good sized, Rainbow or Dolly Varden, this is when you will want to look at booking your trip.

More Info

  • We will clean and filet your fish, preparing them for their travel home with you.
  • We always bring water and ice, so pack yourself a nice lunch and we will be good to go!
  • As a general rule, we will fish either the Kasilof River or the Kenai River, and the decision to fish either will be solely based on the fishing conditions (I.e. fishing pressure, run timing & size, river conditions, tides, etc.) Your guide will make the determination the day or two before your trip and confirm meeting locations with you. All meeting locations are relatively close and ample time will be given so that you’re able to make it on time, comfortably.
  • All trips are subject to current Alaska Department of Fish & Game regulations, including Emergency Orders. Your trip might be affected by season closures, but we always have other options and other fish to pursue!
