Experience the world’s busiest floatplane base. This tour takes riders around the home of Alaska’s floatplanes at Lake Hood. You’ll see plenty of aircraft activity and will learn about the history of the seaplane base and the important role of aviation in historic and current day Alaska. It is combined with a stop at the Alaska Aviation Air Museum to see historic aircraft and hear stories how they contributed to the development of Alaska. This is a great tour for visitors with no prior Segway experience. The trail is flat and the only obstacles may be planes taxiing around you.
It is a unique way to explore Lake Hood and Lake Spenard. Check out this hidden gem and experience Alaska’s largest seaplane base for yourself (bring your binoculars!).
Lakes Hood and Spenard are located adjacent to Ted Steven’s International Airport. The tour departs from Alaska Aviation Museum, 4721 Aircraft Drive. Revel in the history of Alaskan aviation and experience it yourself on a Segway.
Tours are at 11:00 am. Advance reservations are required & can be booked online or by phone at 907.277.4545. This tour includes a ticket to the Alaska Aviation Museum.
