You step from the air-conditioned van into a wash of orange light—the dunes breathing heat around you, wind sketching new ridgelines every few minutes. A low cluster of concrete houses sits half-swallowed by the sand: windows black, mosque minaret scarred, the Ghost Village’s quiet made sharper by the surrounding roar of the desert.
