You step off the 4x4 where limestone cliffs give way to scrub and sand, salt spray already clinging to your skin. The Akamas Peninsula opens like a wild page of Cyprus: low maquis, jagged gorges and a sea that pulls light into impossible blues. The day moves in clear chapters — a short trek through Avakas Gorge, a look at the turtle nests on Lara Bay, a visit to the Baths of Aphrodite, then a boat ride and long swim in the Blue Lagoon.

Turtle nesting season runs mid-May to end of August; sightings are seasonal and not guaranteed, but conservation cages increase hatchling survival.
