Tour Summary

A unique experience that begins in the old town of Aix-en-Provence. Discover the oldest food market in Provence and be captivated by the choice, freshness and variety of the local produce. Then take a tour with us through the Provençal countryside to Château de Beaupré, a family of winemakers since 1890, when Baron Emile Double planted vines and created the winery. The fourth generation of the family now work together to perpetuate the winemaking traditions on this exceptional 43 hectares of organic vines set in the countryside to the north of Aix-en-Provence. Château Bonisson an extraordinary place. Both a destination and a source of inspiration, it is an epicentre of creativity with a streak of independence. The estate – a beautifully preserved oasis of charm with its 18th century country house and Italianate terrace overlooking vineyards bounded by woods and a hill studded with ancient oaks and art centre.

Tour duration & schedule

The total duration of the tour is 7 hours to and from Aix-en-Provence or Marseille. Subject to traffic conditions, we allow +-30 minutes for travel back to Marseille. The time includes approx 90 minutes for you to enjoy lunch and wine tasting.


Tour itinerary & highlights

We will arrive to collect you from your hotel or guest house. (If you are staying in a rented apartment or villa, we can arrange that too) We can collect you from the Cruise Ship terminal in Marseille if you arrive by ship.

This is a great day out for lovers of fine wine and the best food that Provence has to offer. We begin the day with a walking tour of the old town street markets of Aix-en-Provence to absorb the flavours of Provence. Next we head to the country estate of Château de Beaupré for a visit and wine tasting. The Beaupré estate dates back to the beginning of the 18th century, but the Provençal farmhouse was built in 1739. Château de Beaupré wines are Coteaux D'Aix-en-Provence AOC & Château Bonisson, a wine maker with an art centre within the grounds of an 18th century house.
