A salt breeze from the Libyan Sea stills as the trail turns inland and the stone houses of old Agia Roumeli shrink behind you. Footsteps pick their way across a centuries-old bridge, the path pitching steadily upward as the scrub tightens and the Roussa stream dares you to move faster.
