Before You Fly

In the Air

For the majority of the flight, you will be at the controls! Your instructor will assess your abilities and allow you to fly as much as possible while ensuring safety at all times.

  • Locate key landmarks like Carrum Inlet, the wastewater plant, and Cranbourne Racecourse
  • Use maps and GPS to navigate like a real pilot
  • Experience basic aircraft manoeuvres and air traffic communication

Aviation Demonstrations

  • Feel how the aircraft glides with reduced power if you feel comfortable
  • Get hands-on experience with real-time navigation and situational awareness

Heading Back & Post-Flight Debrief

Your instructor will guide you through the approach and landing, ensuring a smooth return while keeping you actively involved.

After landing, you’ll go over what you learned, ask questions, and discuss potential next steps if you’re interested in further training.
