About This Adventure

A special occasion experience as you fly across the shore of Lake Te Anau to land atop Jackson peaks, before taking a jet boat ride along the Waiau river

Duration

2 hours

About

When you land by helicopter on Jackson peaks, this spot can’t be beaten as one of the best vistas in Fiordland. It is regularly requested for wedding photos, engagement proposal picnics, and as a special place to celebrate wedding anniversaries and special life events.

Views of glacier-carved valleys, fiords, lakes and rainforest stretch out before you from this viewpoint – ‘on top of the world’ is nearly an understatement! This is the opportunity to share something truly unique with the ones special to you.

After the landing at Jackson Peaks, we continue on to the Waiau River where you’ll meet up with Fiordland Jet. With Waiau meaning “river of swirling currents” in te reo Māori, you’ll appreciate this name when you embark on an exhilarating jet boat ride across Manapouri, and then back up the Waiau River which is lined by an ancient beech tree forest. Stop at some quiet and tranquil spots to soak up the amazing surrounds, spot a few trout, and learn about the unique environment and fascinating history before being transferred back to Te Anau by coach.

  • Land atop stunning Jackson Peaks
  • One of the best views in all of Fiordland
  • Enjoy a jet boat ride along the Waiau River

What Should You Bring

• Sunglasses • Closed/covered shoes • Warm clothing - it's usually cooler on the mountain tops so wear a couple of layers • Camera for those Instagram worthy shots but please no drones or selfie sticks • A big smile!
