Located in New Milford, Connecticut, The Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum offers a thrilling outdoor experience combining ziplining, climbing courses, and engaging activities for families and adventurers of all ages. This unique destination sits within the grounds of the Discovery Museum, merging physical challenge with educational opportunities, making it a standout in the local outdoor recreation scene. Adventure seekers encounter a range of aerial obstacle courses tailored to various skill levels and ages—from beginner levels perfect for younger children to more advanced routes that challenge even the most experienced climbers.
What makes this park especially unique is its integration with the adjacent Discovery Museum, which houses a planetarium and interactive exhibits. This blend of active outdoor fun with science-based learning is rare in Connecticut’s adventure offerings. Visitors not only engage their bodies but also enjoy stimulating cultural and educational experiences all in one location.
The courses are set amidst a woodland environment featuring hardwood trees and natural landscape, providing a serene backdrop full of native flora and fauna. The park emphasizes safety and personalized attention, supported by friendly, well-trained staff who guide participants through the experience. Festival-style birthday parties and special events like family days make it a favorite community hub.
Despite its popularity, the park maintains a balance between excitement and comfort, although visitors should note that restroom facilities consist mainly of port-a-potties, which has been noted as an area for improvement. Still, the positive energy and engagement time erase many such concerns, with guests praising the park for the opportunity to disconnect kids from electronics and encourage confidence through active play. Whether it’s ziplining through the treetops, navigating challenging rope bridges, or simply enjoying the fresh Connecticut air, The Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum is a refreshing destination for families and adventure lovers visiting New Milford.
