Peles Castle Our trip starts from Bucharest, and in about 2 hours you will be in Sinaia City, where you will visit Peles Castle, the summer residence of the first king of Romania, Carol I of Hohenzollern, of German origins. Peles Castle is a masterpiece of German new-Renaissance architecture, built in the late nineteenth century, and is considered by many to be one of the most stunning castles in Europe. Peles Castle was the first European castle entirely lit by electrical current. It was used as a summer residence by the Royal family for more than 50 years, and the original interior decoration is still intact.
Bran - Dracula's Castle You will continue the day, and in about one hour of driving through the Carpathian Mountains, you will arrive at Bran Castle. Also called Dracula's Castle, surrounded by an aura of mystery and legend, it owes its fame to its imposing towers and turrets as well as to the myth created around Bram Stocker's Dracula. Throughout its history, the castle had a strategic mission as the border between Transylvania and Wallachia. Narrow winding stairways lead through some 60 timber rooms, many connected by underground passages, which house collections of furniture, weapons, and armor dating from the 14th to the 19th centuries.
In the evening you will be back in Bucharest.
