Discover Acadia National Park’s coastal splendor on a private afternoon cruise with Sea Princess Cruises. Explore scenic islands and spot wildlife while enjoying expert insights on this unforgettable journey.
12:45 pm | Late May - Late October
This popular trip amongst the Cranberry Isles, cruises the Great Harbor of Mount Desert and Somes Sound Fjord. The afternoon cruise is narrated by one of our experienced professional local naturalists with many years of experience conducting cruises on the Sea Princess.
Superb views of Bear Island Lighthouse, nesting osprey and basking harbor seals framed by Acadia’s dramatic mountains comprise the first portion of the cruise. A major highlight of the middle of the trip is a 45-minute stop (exact timing may be adjusted depending on the time of year) at the 200-year-old lobster fishing village of Little Cranberry Island. While there you are free to explore this unspoiled offshore island community reminiscent of days gone by. Depending on the time of year Acadia National Park's renowned Islesford Historical Museum may be visited (NOTE: The museum opens in June and closes in late September and often has limited hours in the shoulder seasons). The last hour of the trip cruises deep into Somes Sound Fjord for a spectacular view of the vertical Eagle Cliffs rising directly from the sea.
